World of Tanks Announces Plans for 2011-12

Wargaming has announced development and update release plans for the rest of 2011 and into 2012.  This general plan of game development includes map updates, the addition of several new tanks, and a lot more. Here’s a rundown:

Maps - updates with have 1-2 new maps in each and the team plans to add maps from more regions, including North American maps coming this year followed by Africa, South America, Australia, China, Korea, and Japan on into 2012.

Tanks - added tanks will be in all categories for all three current nationalities.  In addition, new nations to include France, Britain, and Japan will also be coming, starting in late 2011!

New game modes are also coming.  Late this year, the addition of Company Battle Divisions and Assault and Encounter battles will be implemented.  CBD allows high-tier, small attacks while the A&E is a set event in which one team holds the flag and the other must attack it.

Coming later will be Garage Battle, Escort, and Historical Battle options.  In GB, players can go through their garage playing one tank after the next on the same map and battlefield.  So once the first is killed, your next loads and you continue.  Escort play will be similar to attack and defend except only designated tanks can capture the flag, so they must be escorted by the others.  Historical battles will include battles from WWII history as faction-based tournaments.

Other additions are also coming.  These are a huge slew of updates for the game and are coming even though Wargaming is also releasing World of Warplanes and World of Battleships in the next several months.
