Wargaming Previews French Tanks for WOT and American Planes for WOWp

Wargaming.net, which makes the popular MMO World of Tanks (WOT) and will soon release its sister game, World of Warplanes (WOWp), has showcased both the upcoming French line of tanks for WOT and the planned American planes for the launch of WOWp.  Both games are free to play (F2P).

The French line of tanks will be first introduced to WOT with the upcoming v7.1 update (currently in open beta), planned for release early next year.  The update will have 18 new tanks in the light, medium, and heavy tiers.  Self-propelled guns (SPG) and tank destroyers (TD) will be added at a later date.

The World of Warplanes announcement is the introduction of the American line of planes to be included in the game’s launch.  Currently in alpha testing, WOWp will launch with a Russian, American, and German aircraft line.  British and French lines will be added soon after the game’s launch.

The new American planes being introduced begin with the Boeing P-12 biplane, which will be the “tier 1″ starting plane for the American line.  From there, players progress through the ten tiers to the F-86A or the F7U.  Initially, in the game, fighter aircraft will be split into two categories: Fighters (ground-based) and Carrier-Based.
