Star Trek Online Goes F2P

Star Trek Online and Perfect World Entertainment have announced that the free to play (F2P) version of STO is now live.  Cryptic Studios, which develops the game for PWE, has updated the game to F2P and rolled the changes out to all servers.

The game, suffering under its subscription model thanks to other space games like EVE Online and the newly-launched Star Wars: The Old Republic, switched to the F2P model in hopes of garnering new interest from Star Trek fans and gamers.
