Cliffhanger Productions has announced the new Shadowrun Online MMO RPG, confirming rumors of the game’s development. Some details and assurances from the devs have also been forthcoming – namely that it will be “nothing like the Xbox game.”
This will be the company’s third attempt to make something of the Shadowrun game franchise, having received mixed reviews of the Xbox console and PC versions out so far.
Cliffhanger has hired Jagged Alliance Online to build Shadowrun Online, this time modeled after the inspiration for the digital franchise: the pen and paper RPG from FASA.
So far, the developers have detailed that the game will be a free to play (F2P) based on a microtransaction revenue plan. The game will feature a death penalty and will be based on the 4th edition of the live RPG game.
