Runes of Magic has started a browser-based beta version. The beta runs through January 9 and allows players to play the game via their browsers rather than the game client.
As in the (roughly) card-game based MMO RPG, the browser version of ROM includes game play similar to the client, though simplified. ROM is a multi-class game system in which character classes are treated as “powers” and can be stacked – up to three per character.
There are two races and eight classes to choose from. The browser-based beta does not tie into the regular client, so players must begin anew. No word on whether this will change when the browser-based version fully releases.
Interested players can sign up via the browser section of the ROM website. Accounts can be linked to your Facebook.
