Rapid Deployment Vehicles for DUST 514

The upcoming first person shooter for PS3 as a tie-in to EVE Online, DUST 514, will feature a game mechanic called the Rapid Deployment Vehicle (RDV).  These are drones that deliver vehicles to players on the battlefield as replacements or swap-outs for current vehicles.

The RDV is “shrouded in advanced optical stealth” and is guided by automated nav systems.  Designated the J42 “Sky Lift”, the RDV can deliver even the heaviest armor to anywhere on the battlefield.

The RDV can be used to reinforce weak points on a battlefield, to set up pinpoint strikes at opponent’s weak points, etc.  This gives battlefield commanders a host of new options unique to DUST 514.
