According to a press release, Pitchblack Games has announced a new space MMO, Prime: Battle for Dominus. The game will feature a science fiction, space environment and storyline. Prime will also have a vast open world PVP system, along with a number of home worlds, player-driven content, and frequent live events that are facilitated by GM’s rather than scripted software.
Prime is not only the title of the game, it is also the main source of energy that powers the various technologies that players will find in the Prime universe. And due to its scarcity, Prime will be a source of conflict for factions.
Players can choose from three different factions: Human, Salent and Rodon. The Salent race is penned as “highly intelligent with genetic manipulation”, while the Rodon are known for their physical stature and love for battle.
Seven classes will be availabe to players: Armortech, Weapontech, Chemist, Inventor, Biotech, Soldier for Hire, and Harvester. The Harvester appears to be the class that controls the direction of the economy, specialized in gathering raw materials.
Pitchblack promises plenty of exploration in Prime, with eleven worlds and twenty-five open areas.
Prime will utilize the the HERO engine, and is slated to release in 2011. Find out more at http://www.primeonline.com/.
