Lineage 2 F2P EU Goes Open Beta
The developers of Lineage 2, Innova, have announced that the game’s free to play (F2P) version is now in open beta for European servers. Services are available in English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish and Turkish. Players can register through the Lineage 2 EU website and download the client to begin play testing.
The game’s press release to make this announcement says:
“Lineage II is already played and loved by millions across the world, and with our free-to-play service many more will be able to discover Lineage II at its very best withGoddess of Destruction,” said Gevork Sarkisyan, CEO of Innova. “Our challenge is to provide Europe with the best quality gaming experience, tailored to the needs of each territory, completely free to play.”
Not too surprising. Before long, most struggling and mediocre MMORPGs that used to be a subscription model will switch over to F2P. Let’s see if that’s really a sustainable model.
