League of Legends is Going to Russia

Riot Games has announced that they are going to deploy League of Legends into Russia with a new, fully localized version of the game.  This will be the first foray into foreign markets for the game.

“We’ve listened to the rising volume of voices asking for League of Legends in Russia,” says Brandon Beck, co-founder and CEO of Riot Games.

No timetable has been set for the Russian deployment, but it will include Russian language implementation and local service and support for gamers there.  Russia is one of the world’s largest growing markets for games and home to popular MMOs like Wargaming.net’s World of Tanks.
