Mike Ferguson, lead developer at Guild Wars 2, has released updated information for the new player versus player (PvP) environment World vs World. Releasing soon, the update will be one of the most massive of player army versus player army games ever made.
Each WvW system pits three worlds containing hundreds of players each against one another on massively scaled maps. It gives several opportunities, including banding together in alliances to dominate other foes. Weapons such as siege engines, defensive works, and more are also included.
Some environment-based NPCs as well as boss monsters and minions are also included to liven things up. Keeps and protected areas vary in size and position on the maps to keep things strategic and resources will also play a large role in strategic game play.
Players with the right skills will be able to construct machines to help with the war effort as well.
Overall, it looks really massively fun.
