GDC Online Awards Announced

The 2011 Game Developers Choice Online Awards have been announced with Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), Mojang and Trion Worlds getting most of the accolades.  GDC is known as the “Grammys of online gaming.”

Minecraft, made by Mojang, won in both categories it was nominated for: Best Live Game and Best Community Relations.  Rift won Best Online Technology and Best New Online Game for Trion Worlds while DC Universe Online took home Best Online Visual Arts and fellow SOE game Clone Wars took Best Audio.

Meanwhile, Everquest (also from Sony OE) was inducted into the GDC Hall of Fame, joining Ultima Online.
