Final Fantasy XIV Patch, Chocobos and Airships

Final Fantasy XIV developers have announced officially that the new patch, Lodestone, will be updated with v1.19 patch on October 4th.  The patch brings significant changes to the same including the long-awaited Chocobos mounts and Airships.

The patch was meant to release (originally) this week, but has been delayed in order to give devs more time to debug before opening it to the public.  In the mean time, the following has been announced about the upcoming patch:

• Players will have the ability to earn a Chocobo whistle by joining one of the Grand Companies and purchase the whistle with 3,000 company seals. Chocobos will also be available for rent in several locations for 800 gil for a ten minute ride.
• Airships will also be arriving with v1.19 and will allow players quick transport between the three city state of Limsa Lominsa, Ul’dah and Gridania.

As has been previously announced, patch 1.19 will usher in major revisions and additions to synthesis recipes. The details of the following changes will be made available shortly.

- Certain recipes will be phased out.
- Certain ingredients will become obsolete.
- Items offered by vendor NPCs will be changed.
- Certain items will no longer be available through NPCs.
- The buying price of certain items will be revised.
- The selling price of certain items will be revised.
- Certain items will no longer be dropped by enemies.
