DC Universe Update 8 Deployed

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that the latest update for DC Universe Online (DCO), Update 8, has deployed across all servers.  This patch brings the new Research & Development system online, allowing players to create new items.

The R&D system has four components:

1. Finding and Researching through finding plans for either upgrading or building gear and consumables are available all over the game world.
2. Gathering the needed resources such as exobytes and items.
3. Salvaging components from unused, uncommon, or rare items to get materials rather than using or selling the items (as before).
4. Collecting dropped bonuses such as useful ingredients (like Focusing Elements) throughout the game’s play.
